March 25, 2022, Update

The end of Quarter 3 is today. Reports will be available on PowerSchool on April 1, 2022. As you review reports, please note that on April 29th, ISY will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences. If you have any questions about the Quarter 3 report, please feel free to email the teacher directly and/or attend Parent Teacher Conferences. As online conferences have been been a success, we will continue with this approach. More information about conferences will be sent after the holiday. 

 

Mississippi Challenge

To raise funds for the children of Myanmar, Dr. Hedger and his son Max have set a goal to canoe down 2,400 miles of the Mississippi River in the United States, this summer. These funds will be donated, from ISY, to two of the organizations: United World Schools (UWS) and Care for the Least Center (CLC). 

 

Senior Photos
On March 31st, (the day after mock exams) has been set aside for Senior Photos.  There will be no classes for seniors on this day. On March 31, 2022 (Thursday) we would like all seniors who are in the country to come to campus to have their senior photo taken. This is an opportunity to have individual photos as well as group photos if you would like. So come with your friends!
Please note if you chose to not have your photo taken on this day, you run the risk of not being included in the invitation photo or the class of 2022 photo. Those of you outside of the country will be contacted by the communications office who will work with you in obtaining a photo for graduation.
Senior Photo Day 
  • Date Thursday, March 31st between 8:00-3:30 PM. 
  • Cap and Gowns will be in the secondary office for pick up
  • Allow approximately 30 minutes for your session.
  • No need to schedule an appointment – just show up and we will be prepared.

Grade 12 Timeline

  • Mocks will take place next week March 21st-March 30th
    • March 31st is senior photo day at ISY
  • Your final Day of required classes for seniors will be:
    • April 7th if we have IB exams (April 18-May 1 will be dedicated review time).
    • April 29, 2022, if we do not have IB exams.
  • Graduation: The date for graduation will be set based on whether we take the IB exams. Once this has been determined, we will look at scheduling graduation.
  • The graduation committee meeting has met and as a result, surveys are being sent to students to complete. 

Earth Hour and Global Action Week

Monday marked the start of the global action days that ran until the 26th of March. Throughout the week,  the impact on the environment was spotlighted. Students participate by filling in what their commitment will be for Earth Hour or the week and posting their evidence on either a padlet or on a social media platform (Instagram, Twitter or Facebook) with the #isyearthhour. 

The following are the required number of full commitments needed to have the following soaked:
 
100 Commitment posts = Mr. Davis
200 Commitment  posts = Mrs. Sheppard
400 Commitment posts = Dr. Hedger
