Form Environmental Consciousness (EC) Committee Develop a common definition and understanding of EC in the ISY community

Create a baseline for current carbon footprint Explore carbon off-setting

Begin working with Curriculum Director on incorporating EC into curriculum

Work with Leadership and any contractors to ensure EC is part of all facility planning and capital project

Work with Service Learning Committee in incorporate values of EC into the program

Work with key players on campus to begin plans of waste reduction Explore long term, mutually beneficial relationships with community partners

2019 – 20

Begin carbon offsetting program

Reduce or offset ISY carbon footprint by 25% of baseline

Identify an established external evaluation body to report on ISY progress based on certification program / criteria and begin working on certification.

Continue working with Service Learning Committee in incorporate values of EC into the program

Work with teachers and Director of Teaching and Learning to incorporate Environmental Consciousness into the curriculum by working within curriculum review cycle.

2020 – 21

Continue carbon offsetting program

Reduce or offset ISY carbon footprint by additional 25% of baseline

Continue working with established external evaluation body to achieve certification

2021 – 22

Reduce or offset ISY carbon footprint by additional 25% of baseline

Achieve certification with established external evaluation body

Work with teachers and Director of Teaching and Learning to incorporate Environmental Consciousness into the curriculum by working within curriculum review cycle

2022 – 23

Continue carbon offsetting program

Reduce or offset ISY carbon footprint by additional 25% of baseline – become a carbon neutral school
