SEASAC Music Festival
Here is a summary of the SEASAC Music Festival by Ms. Bekka:
“Day 1 Summary: Today was a full day for our group. With bright eyes and excitement everyone was ready at 5:00am to board the plane. After an uneventful flight we arrived here in Singapore ready to find out what the journey would lead to. Our gracious hosts made sure we were fed and comfortable before we dove into our first 2 hour rehearsal. During the rehearsals students worked with talented directors. Laughter and hard work were at the center of their work. I was proud of all the students’ attention and efforts. With the great start we had today, the concert on Saturday is going to be amazing!
Day 2 Summary: You might not believe it, but your students today have been making music for more than 8 hours. Working with students from other schools and countries around the world they are making new connections both within and outside of themselves. The music is truly coming alive. The directors take time to help the students personalize, interpret, and express the deepest parts of the songs. Their feet are tired, their brains are exhausted, and they are almost ready for their performance tomorrow! I am proud of the work they are doing and am so thankful that these students are willing to be here and grow.
Day 3 Summary: Concert day is the culmination of days and weeks of hard work. It is exciting and exhausting. The students had four hours of rehearsal this morning followed by a dress rehearsal and a performance at 4:00. Thank you to the parents that were able to travel and be with us. The students gave their best performance at the concert and celebrated with all the performers at a gala and dinner. Fun was had by all and I am very proud of all their hard work!”

The team has a great mix of fresh and experienced players, and big hitters, but also sharp fielders. We look forward to following their tournament.
