Today, we had a Chinthe Community Wellness Day. Students of all ages worked and played together in their Chinthe Communities.

This first quarter has gone fast. The students are tired but are working hard to the end! After Thadingyut we will return to a 5 day week.

This week, we were very fortunate to have Cathy Berger Kaye working with us. Cathy loves ISY’s vision for learning.

Every Thursday, the whole Secondary School has been Dropping Everything and Read (we call it D.E.A.R.) for 20 minutes. We will read whatever we like. 

These three questions underpin everything we do at ISY. Our new Chinthe Communities initiative provides a good example of this.

Yesterday, during our Chinthe Community time, Secondary School students from all grades came together to read.

This Wednesday, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our Back to School Night. It will begin at 5:30pm in the MPR.

There is a very positive energy about the campus and it is wonderful to see our new students being brought into our ISY family.

The first day of school this year is Tuesday, August 20. All Secondary School students will meet in the Gym at 8:00am.

Olympiads are an ISY tradition and today’s one had special significance – it was the launch of our new Chinthe Communities initiative

Class of 2024, I am very proud and grateful to have had the opportunity to work with you all. You embodied our compassionate Mission and Vision.

Grade 8 students are finishing the year working on service projects that benefit our school community and Chinthe Fund partners.

Service learning at ISY can take many forms. Many student-led projects develop out of what the students are learning in class.

Executive functioning skills enable a student to fulfil their potential. Resilience and seeking support when needed is a very important one.

Today, we had a Town Hall meeting. This is an opportunity for all of our students to get together to celebrate what is important to us.

Our Seniors have now started their IB Diploma final exams. This is an exciting time for them and we will be supporting them all the way.

Also today, our Grade 12 students finished their regular classes in preparation for their final IB Diploma exams. We are very proud of our Seniors and we are sure that you will all join us in wishing them all the very best of luck.

Following a virtual visit In January, 2024 by two representatives of the International Baccalaureate (IB), ISY is extremely proud to have it recognized as a ‘world-class’ program.

We are excited to announce that Htun Eaindra Bo will be performing at the ISY Gala on Saturday, March 30 at the ParkRoyal Hotel, Yangon.

Last Friday, award-winning Myanmar businesswoman, Ms. Win Win Tint, spoke to our Secondary School students. 

Last weekend, 50 ISY students participated in the Yangon Model United Nations conference. It was a very successful conference for ISY.

Today, our Grade 6 students return from their Chinthe Expedition in Chiang Mai. This expedition is the final one for the year.

The Family Fun Fair a special day for us to come together as a community to celebrate our unity and enjoy many fun activities. 

All is in place for our Grade 8 and 9 Chinthe Expeditions to Chiang Mai from this Sunday, February 11 to Friday, February 16.

Congratulations to everyone involved in our wonderful student performance of ‘Into the Woods.’ It took a lot of effort from a lot of people!

Tonight is opening night! If you cannot get along to tonight to ‘Into the Woods,’ be sure to come along on Saturday night.

We are very much looking forward to next week’s student production of Into the Woods. It will run on Friday and Saturday evening.

Today, our Grade 10, 11, and 12 students return from a week-long Chinthe Expedition in and around Chiang Mai.
