We are very excited to announce the introduction of Chinthe Expeditions for our Secondary School students!

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests will provide us with very useful information about our students in Math and English Language Arts.

Next Thursday, more than 100 universities from around the world will be trying to convince our students to apply to their programmes.

We were very pleased to welcome so many of you to the new school year at last night’s Back to School Night.

It has been a great first full week of school. We look forward to seeing you at our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 31 from 5:30pm.

Today, we all benefit greatly from the hard work, high standards, and compassion of those Chinthes who went before us.

The end of the year is a time for reflection. Today, we reflected on the focus, effort, and belief it takes to be successful. 

It has been a very busy week in the Secondary School with students working in groups on various service projects.

Congratulations to our graduating Seniors. The Class of 2023 have made a very significant contribution to our community.

Reflection is a very important part of the learning process. We often learn more from processing experiences than the experiences themselves.

Next week is final exam week for our Grade 9, 10, and 11 students. There are multiple reasons why we have our High School students sit exams.

It is hard to believe that it is almost May and we have seven weeks left of the school year. We will make the most of these seven weeks.

Judging by how ISY delegates contributed to last weekend’s Yangon Model United Nations (YMUN) conference, our students have very bright futures.

How and why ChatGPT might be used in the classroom is something schools around the world have been thinking about a lot lately.

Success can be measured in different ways. Sometimes a team can win with a poor performance and sometimes lose with a good performance.

This week we have our ISY badminton, softball, and soccer teams competing overseas in regional tournaments.

As a faculty, we have been studying the science of how we learn and how our brains work and change over time.

Yesterday, our faculty participated in some professional development around the neuroscience of how the brain changes in young people.

I hope that you enjoyed our ISY Family Fun Fair. We are very proud of our Student Councils and Service Learning Groups who organized it.

Tomorrow sees the return of the ISY Family Fun Fair. This is student-led event in support of Service Learning at ISY.

The ISY Learner Attributes will again be on display this Saturday and Sunday in our students’ performance of The Wizard of Oz

As I write this our SEASAC Basketball, Touch Rugby and Tennis teams are competing in their tournaments in Bangkok.

Wednesday, I was fortunate to visit Kalihtaw School with three ISY students who represent ISY’s Access to Education Service Learning Group.

Today was the ISY Olympiad. This event has been a part of ISY for 33 years and for many students, it is the ‘Greatest Day of the Year.’

We have had a busy start to 2023 and we are already starting to plan for the 2023-2024 year with the course selection process underway.

I hope you all get a chance to rest, reflect and re-energize over the Winter Break and I look forward to seeing all of you in January.

There is a lot going on next week as we come to the end of 2022. There is a Broadway Evening tonight and a holiday bazaar on Wednesday.
