Dear ISY Community,

We’ve made it to the fourth week of school, and the energy on campus is incredible! It’s been a joy to see students settle into their routines, embrace learning, and dive into our many activities. The start of the year has been busy but full of positive momentum, and we are excited for what’s to come.

Exciting New ASA Offering: Touch Rugby (G5-G8)!

We are thrilled to introduce a new ASA program this season—Touch Rugby! This dynamic and engaging sport is a fantastic addition to our After School Activities lineup.

For more information and to sign up, please click here. We look forward to seeing many of our students join in the fun!

After-School Activities (ASAs):

Our ASA program is in full swing, and it’s been wonderful to see so many students actively engaged in the variety of offerings. From sports and arts to academic clubs, the participation has been tremendous. As we move forward, please note that we will no longer be making any changes, additions, or switches to the ASA schedule. Thank you for your understanding and for encouraging your children to commit to the activities they’ve chosen. Their enthusiasm and dedication are exactly what make these programs so successful!

Excitement in Hosting Our First Games:

This past week, we were thrilled to host our first games of the season, with ISM visiting for some great middle school basketball action. The gym was buzzing with excitement, packed with students, families, and community members, all cheering for our teams. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support—your presence made the atmosphere electric and showed what ISY is all about!

Thank You for Your Continued Support

As always, your involvement in our school activities makes all the difference. Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, encouraging your child at home, or helping with logistics, we appreciate your efforts in making ISY such a special place.

SY vs ISM: MS Girls Basketball Game Recap

Final Score: ISY 26 – ISM 21

The ISY middle school girls’ basketball team faced a tough match against ISM. The game started with ISY struggling to find their rhythm on offense, giving ISM the opportunity to capitalize on second-chance shots. However, as the game progressed, the team found their footing and began sinking key baskets.

Hojung led the charge with her sharp shooting, finding her sweet spots on the court and making crucial shots down the stretch. Despite the late-game surge, ISY couldn’t quite close the gap in time, and ISM managed to hold on for a narrow victory.

The team’s determination and late-game comeback showed great promise for future games. Keep an eye on this group as they continue to develop and build on their performance!

ISY vs ISM: MS Boys Basketball Game Recap

Final Score: ISY 6 – ISM 53

The ISY middle school boys’ basketball team faced a challenging start to the season against a strong ISM squad. While the final score was tough, our players showed resilience and glimpses of their potential throughout the game. The team worked hard to break through ISM’s defense multiple times, creating opportunities that, with more practice, will surely convert into points.

Bahn Ko was a standout, showing tremendous courage and taking shots whenever he had the chance. His determination on the court was a bright spot, and the team will focus on building from this experience as the season progresses.

Although the result wasn’t in our favor, there is much to learn and look forward to in the upcoming games!

ISY vs ILBC: HS Girls Volleyball Game Recap

Final Score: ISY 3 – ILBC 0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-18)

The ISY high school girls’ volleyball team earned a well-deserved 3-0 victory against ILBC, though the match started off with a bit of a rocky start, as the team missed their first three service chances. However, once the serves began landing, ISY quickly found their rhythm, playing cohesively and taking control of all three sets.

All eleven players demonstrated exceptional movement on the court and delivered strong hits throughout the match. E K led the team defensively, making crucial blocks that kept ILBC from gaining any momentum.

The team’s performance highlighted their depth and teamwork, setting a solid foundation for the rest of the season.

ISY vs ILBC: HS Boys Volleyball Game Recap

Final Score: ISY 3 – ILBC 0

The ISY high school boys’ volleyball team had a strong start to their match against ILBC, securing a 3-0 victory. Consistent serving, successful receives in the first five plays, and clear communication on the court set the tone for a dominant first set.

In the second and third sets, we adjusted the lineup to ensure everyone got playing time. While the second set went smoothly, the third set saw a slight dip in focus, leading to more errors. However, rather than making substitutions or calling a timeout, we allowed the players to work through the challenges together. This decision paid off, as they regained their focus and finished the set on top.

Tiger stood out with his strategic attacks, making several key kills and smartly tipping the ball into gaps in ILBC’s defense. Ryan also delivered an impressive performance, achieving a 100% success rate with his serves.

The team demonstrated resilience and strong teamwork throughout, and this win sets a positive tone for the rest of the season.
