After School Activities (ASAs) Begin Monday, January 27!

We are excited to kick off another amazing semester of After School Activities (ASAs) next Monday, January 27, running through April 11. This semester, we’re proud to offer an incredible 78 options, ranging from artistic expression to service learning to physical challenges. With such a wide variety, there’s truly something for everyone!

For parents, ASA information is now available on PowerSchool. Please take a moment to check your child’s schedule and ensure they’re registered for the activities they’re interested in. If you need help, here’s a step-by-step guide.

We encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to explore new interests, develop skills, and connect with their peers. Whether they’re trying something completely new or building on a current passion, this semester’s ASAs are sure to offer something meaningful and fun.

Let’s make it a great semester of learning, growth, and discovery!

ISY vs ISM: MS Girls Football Recap

    Final Score:

    ISM 4 – ISY 0

The ISY middle school girls’ football team gave an admirable effort in their match against ISM, especially considering it was the first time all nine players were experiencing the sport. Despite a challenging start, with ISM scoring two quick goals in the first three minutes, the team quickly adapted, learning the game and playing with increasing strength and teamwork as the match progressed.

The Chinthes created three significant one-on-one chances against ISM’s goalkeeper, one of which narrowly missed, hitting the post. While the team couldn’t convert these opportunities into goals, their effort and determination were commendable.

A special shoutout goes to Alvina, who stepped up as goalkeeper for the first time. Her positivity and critical saves kept the team motivated and in the game. Alvina’s willingness to take on such a vital role highlights the team’s resilience and spirit.

The girls left the field with smiles and a stronger understanding of the game—an excellent foundation to build upon. Well done, Chinthes!

ISY vs ISM: Boys Varsity Basketball Recap

    Final Score:

    ISM 32 – ISY 26

The ISY boys varsity basketball team displayed determination and grit in a closely contested game. Although ISM maintained a lead throughout the match, ISY fought back in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to just one point. In the fourth quarter, the team’s solid defense and offensive efforts brought them within two baskets of tying the game, but the shots just didn’t fall in our favor.

A standout performance came from Minwoo, a 9th-grade player, who made 4 out of 5 shots and played exceptional defense. The team’s defensive effort throughout the game effectively limited ISM’s scoring opportunities.

The game was a testament to the players’ resilience and commitment, and they’ll continue to build on these efforts in upcoming matches. Great work, Chinthes!

ISY vs ISM: HS Girls Basketball Recap

The ISY high school girls’ basketball team showed noticeable improvement in their matchup against ISM, particularly in their offensive movement. While the team created opportunities, turnovers proved costly, giving ISM the edge needed to secure the win.

Despite the result, the entire team continues to progress, both individually and as a cohesive unit. Their dedication and hard work are evident with every game, and they’re building a strong foundation for future success.
