Our vision for Sustainability:

1. In partnership with ISY service learning programs and the wider ISY community, ISY pursues greener and more environmentally friendly practices by reducing our reliance on fossil fuel energy sources, our use/consumption of plastics, and ensuring only environmentally safe cleaning solutions are used on campus.

2. ISY has a robust recycling program that can serve as a model for the larger Myanmar community. ISY raises awareness and is a community leader in the use and disposal of non-biodegradable and biodegradable waste.

3. SDG’s feature across the ISY curriculum (K-12) and are central to students’ understanding of real world issues about the local and global environment.

4. ISY has developed a program to collect rainwater for gardening and to reduce the amount of water that is wasted on campus.

5. ISY consults a sustainability checklist when developing or improving campus facilities.
