Athletics & Activities Blog – February 7

 SEASAC, AMIS & YAC Update

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and after a great deal of internal deliberation, SEASAC and AMIS host schools made the difficult decision to cancel this month’s tournaments and festivals.  The following events have been canceled and will not be rescheduled:

  • SEASAC B/G Basketball
  • SEASAC B/G Tennis
  • SEASAC B/G Senior Swimming
  • SEASAC Girls Touch Rugby
  • SEASAC Arts
  • SEASAC MUN
  • AMIS MS Honor Choir

In addition, Yangon Athletic Conference (YAC) schools have also made the decision to stop hosting or traveling to local sporting events for the time being.  All games will be postponed and rescheduled for a later date when possible.  Some events may be canceled.

Facility Schedule – Union Day – February 12

Due to the Union Day national holiday on Wednesday, February 12th, there will be no school in session at ISY.  This means that there will also be no ASAs or sports practices that day as well.

Please keep in mind that the pool will be closed for the day, but the fitness room will be available.

Session 3 ASAs

Believe it or not, it’s time for teachers to start thinking about Session 3 ASAs!  Session 2 will end on Friday, February 21st and Session 3 – the final session of the year – will begin on Monday, March 9.

The biggest change during Session 3 is the addition of ASAs for KG students!  This is a very exciting time of year for the youngest CHINTHES as they get the opportunity choose from a selection of after school activties.
