ISY Attends Virtual SEASAC MUN Competition & Wins Commendations

This weekend six students from the Model United Nations (MUN) club were able to attend a virtual MUN conference hosted by Alice Smith in Kuala Lumpur.  They were given the opportunity to debate exciting topics in the role of a nation.  Even though they had little time to prepare, the ISY delegates were successful in turning some heads with their strong arguments and clear focus on logical solutions to global issues.

Hay Zin (2023) was awarded most improved delegate for her work in the Human Rights Council.  Representing Australia in the same committee, Harry L. (2023) received the highest commendation.  Mahatav (2022) was also recognized verbally within the WHO committee.  Cindy (2024), Harry M. (2023) and Kalika (2022) dove into new committees and took on experienced delegates.  This group of six walked away from a fun weekend that furthered their skills in international diplomacy and UN procedure.  Congratulations to everyone who attended.

*Thank you to Ms. Sarah Leonardis, MUN Advisor, for this write-up.

Community Education

Community Education

The philosophy of ISY is to be both a school and a community center for its families and faculty. By offering activities and courses for adults, we are aligning with ISY’s vision of developing lifelong learners. With that in mind, we are excited to announce a few opportunities for Community Education this fall.
