ISY Facilities Supervision Update

Before the COVID pandemic hit Myanmar last year, the ISY facilities had always been open after school and on weekends to the entire community, when there was not a scheduled school event.  If there was a problem on campus or an emergency after hours, the ISY security team was here to help.

Since the start of the pandemic, we have had to tighten the hours of availability and ensure that we had supervision in place to make sure users were socially distanced and wearing a mask at all times.   As more and more of our community departs, we would like to keep the facilities open for students and parents who are staying behind.  However, we want to return to “normal”, no longer requiring PE staff or teachers to supervise or enforce COVID regulations.

Moving forward, during and after Thingyan break and into the summer, we will open up more hours for outdoor facilities use but social distancing protocols and masks will still be required.  If you need to report a problem, or if you have an emergency, you will need to report to the security officers at the front gate, as in years past. We will also continue to have lap swimming available with a lifeguard on duty.  Reservations will still be required for all venues.

In order for the facilities to remain open for the rest of the school year and hopefully the summer months, it is imperative that we all work together to follow COVID protocols, whether we are being “supervised” or not. It takes a community effort to ensure that we can continue to stay open and COVID-free.

If you reserve a lane and cannot make it for your session PLEASE cancel your reservation by emailing lisom@isyedu.org.  We ask that family members share a lane.

ISY is not responsible for supervision of students during these times.

Please note masks need to be worn in all public areas of the school, except while in the water.  This includes while using the outdoor facilities for small group games and activities.  We also ask that you make every attempt to practice social distancing. Please always enter through the front steps area as this entrance is outfitted with a thermal camera to check temperatures.  In addition, please bring your school ID to avoid the need to sign-in at the front gate.  We also ask that everyone wash their hands at the sinks on the front steps before entering the campus.  The indoor gym is not available at this time.
