SEASAC & YAC Update

Athletic & Activities Directors from the Southeast Asia Student Activities Conference (SEASAC) met earlier this month to discuss travel plans and conference schedules for the 2021-22 school year.

At this time, SEASAC is going to assume that it will be difficult for schools to travel internationally, so any tournaments will be held virtually once again or within each school’s local sports league.

For ISY, the only SEASAC school in Myanmar, this will mean that all competitions will be held locally within the Yangon Athletic Conference (YAC).  Other schools within the YAC include YIS, ISM, YA, and ILBC.  ISY also competes against the British & French Schools as well as several other small international schools in the country, which are not part of the YAC.

As more people become vaccinated and COVID restrictions are loosened, we are hopeful that in-person sports will be the norm at ISY once again.

A full schedule of sporting events and activities for HS/MS/ES students will be shared in the fall, once we know how many students will be in attendance at ISY, and whether or not in-person learning and sports are possible.

Any questions should be addressed to Ms. Isom:  lisom@isyedu.org

Community Education

Community Education

The philosophy of ISY is to be both a school and a community center for its families and faculty. By offering activities and courses for adults, we are aligning with ISY’s vision of developing lifelong learners. With that in mind, we are excited to announce a few opportunities for Community Education this fall.
