Athletics and Activities
Dear ISY Community,
It is my pleasure to announce that Athletics and Activities are back at ISY!
I am sure that you are all happy to hear this. There is already planning going on for a full Yangon Athletic Conference year of sports starting with Middle School (MS) basketball and High School (HS) Volleyball. Our ISY teachers are busy planning a wide variety of After School Activities that almost all of our students should be able to find something they are passionate about, or something new to try.
After School Activities (ASA)
After school activities will start on the 29th of August. The ASA information packets are available here. Please review over the weekend with your children the many options that are available.
Signups will open on Monday the 22nd, at 7 PM. Signups will close on Wednesday the 24th at 7 PM. You will then receive a confirmation email on Friday listing what ASAs your children are participating in, as well as when and where they are.
ES ASAs will start at 2:20 and finish at 3:05.
MS/HS ASAs will start at 2:40 and finish at 3:25.
High School (HS) Volleyball Tryouts!!!

Facilities
The facilities at ISY are looking great and ready to be used. Please see the schedules for the facilities below. If you want to use the facilities please use this sign up link to book a time and space. There are still some limitations as to numbers for certain areas so it is important that we all use this form.
Please remember that when you sign up to use any of the facilities at ISY you will need to sign a waiver. If you are a new user of our facilities you will need to fill out a waiver form. This is important. Here is a link to the waiver form. You are not permitted to use the school’s facilities without filling out this waiver form.

Introduction
Finally, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jonathan O’Sullivan and I am the Athletics and Activities Coordinator. I have an extensive background in playing and coaching sports throughout my student and teaching years. The sports I have played and coached include rugby, cricket, basketball, volleyball, touch rugby, tennis, badminton, football/soccer, softball, track and field (decathlon), and distance running.
I am from New Zealand and this is my fourth year at ISY. I have been teaching and living overseas for almost 20 years.
I am very excited to be in this role, especially as we move back into activities and sports. Because of this I believe that this year will be one of the best we have had in a while.
If you have any questions about Activities and Athletics please email me at josullivan@isyedu.org
Kindest regards,
Mr. Jonathan O’Sullivan
