Rebekka Jensen –  Athletics, Arts, and Activities Coordinator

Dear ISY Community,

I hope everyone is settling into the new school year. Our Athletics, Arts, and Activities programs are off to an exciting start with various events and opportunities for students to get involved.

High School Volleyball & Middle School Basketball Tryouts

This week, we kicked off the High School Volleyball and Middle School Basketball tryouts. We had a fantastic turnout, and it’s great to see so many students eager to participate in our athletic programs. The energy and enthusiasm in the gym were contagious, and I’m confident we’ll have strong teams this season.

Upcoming Swim Team Tryouts

Next week, we will be holding swim team tryouts for our Middle and High School students. So far, we have 8 students signed up to test their skills in the pool. If your child is interested but hasn’t signed up yet, please make sure they do so.  Here is a link if you would like to sign your student up for tryouts, so be sure to fill it out before the trials begin.

After School Activities (ASAs)

Our After School Activities (ASAs) will start on Tuesday, September 3rd. We’re pleased to offer a total of 74 different ASAs this year, with 310 students signed up to participate. We are particularly excited that there are 252 service learning bookings!  It’s wonderful to see such high engagement, and we’re excited to see our students explore their interests and talents in a variety of activities.

For parents, ASA information is now available on PowerSchool. Please take a moment to check your child’s schedule and ensure they’re registered for the activities they’re interested in.  Here is a step by step guide if you need help. The variety of options ensures there’s something for everyone, and we encourage students to try something new this semester.

A Look Ahead

With the start of ASAs and swim tryouts next week, there’s a lot to look forward to. We’re committed to providing a well-rounded experience for all our students, and we appreciate your support in encouraging their participation.

If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Rebekka Jensen (Ms. Bekka)
