Greetings, ISY Community,

As we wrap up the fifth week of school, the energy and enthusiasm on campus remain high! It’s been incredible to see our students deeply engaged in both their academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. With so much happening, we’re excited to share a few important updates with you.

New ASA Offering: Touch Rugby

We’re excited to announce a new after-school activity: Touch Rugby for Grades 5-8! This program will be held on Thursdays after school, offering students a fantastic opportunity to learn the game, develop teamwork skills, and have some fun.

Yangon City Invitational (YCI) – Table Tennis

We are also preparing for the Yangon City Invitational (YCI) for Table Tennis, taking place on September 29th. Students interested in participating can sign up through this link. It’s a great chance to represent ISY and enjoy some friendly competition!

    ISY vs ILBC: MS Boys Basketball Game Recap

    Final Score: ISY 19 – ILBC 33

    The ISY middle school boys’ basketball team faced a highly competitive match against ILBC. The game was close, with ISY fighting hard and even managing to tie the score in the third quarter.

    All players demonstrated the skills they’ve been working on in practice, and their effort on the court was clear throughout the game. Although ILBC pulled ahead in the final stretch, the ISY boys showcased their best and left everything on the floor.

    Their commitment and teamwork were impressive, and this performance shows great promise for the season ahead. Well done, boys!

     

    ISY vs ILBC: MS Girls Basketball Game Recap

    Final Score: ISY 11 – ILBC 23

    The ISY middle school girls’ basketball team faced a strong ILBC defense that came out much more aggressively than in their first meeting. ILBC quickly took an early lead, putting pressure on ISY.

    Despite the early challenge, ISY regrouped and showed determination throughout the game. Although they couldn’t secure a victory, ISY’s defensive efforts were impressive, holding ILBC scoreless in the fourth quarter.

    The team’s resilience and strong finish highlight their growth and potential. Great job, girls!

    ISY vs ISM: Boys Varsity Volleyball Recap

    Final Score: ISY 3 – ISM 2 (Final Set: ISY 15 – ISM 13)

    The ISY boys’ varsity volleyball team battled hard in an intense five-set match against ISM. ISY started off by dropping the first set but quickly regrouped and gained momentum in the second, carrying that energy through to a narrow but well-earned victory in the final set.

    The team’s standout skills in this game were teamwork and mental flexibility. Their ability to adapt to different positions and strategies, while staying united, ultimately led them to success. Additionally, great sportsmanship was on display, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams cheering each other on throughout the matches.

    Fantastic effort all around, and congratulations on a hard-fought win!

     

    ISY vs ISM: Girls Varsity Volleyball Recap

    Final Score: ISY 0 – ISM 3

    The ISY girls’ varsity volleyball team encountered a tough opponent in ISM. Although the team had a slow start and wasn’t able to catch up, they demonstrated several moments of brilliance throughout the match.

    Despite the loss, the entire team showcased notable skill development, and their progress was evident in key plays. These bright moments reflect the hard work they’ve put in and the potential for even stronger performances in future games.

    Great effort, girls—keep up the dedication!
