Elementary Update – September 20
Sandy Sheppard, Elementary School Principal
Dear Parents,
This week on Wednesday I visited the ISY Nay Pyi Taw campus. There are lots of fabulous things happening on our new campus (see photos below).
On our campus we continue enjoying our learning. This week we had our 2nd assembly rotation with the theme of compassion. We also saw lots of amazing an engaging learning activities happening in classrooms.
I wish you all a wonderful week.

Professional Learning
Today there is a half day for a professional learning opportunity for our faculty – ‘Compassion Conference’. We are lucky to have Wilma Derksen with us as the keynote speaker who will be presenting on ‘Fostering Personal and Institutional Forgiveness.
The keynote address will be followed by two sessions of presentations. The conference was open to other schools in Yangon and we have many participants from other schools joining us.
I encourage you to join the parent workshop on Tuesday, see below:
Service Learning Local Expert Directory
At the end of last year some parents volunteered to come into school and speak to students involved in the Model United Nations (MUN) group about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how the groups that those parents work for are striving to make a positive change in these areas.
ISY is aware that many of you are involved in these goals in some way or another and we would like to reach out to you to create a contact list of parents and local experts who are working in these areas and might be willing to speak to students about the SDGs.
If you would be willing to be part of this contact list please can you fill out our service learning directory form. Todd Davis, the ISY Service Learning Coordinator will then follow up with you individually.
