Christina Powers, Secondary School Principal

Dear Parents,

Next week, ISY’s middle school students will be participating in Week without walls adventures. The campus will be quiet without our Middle Schoolers.

Bus drop off and pick up for grades 6 and 7:

Please remember the location of our drop off (7:00 AM) and pick up is at Mya Kyun Thar Park in front of Sabai Sabai DMZD (Thai Restaurant ), Kabar Aye Pagoda Road, Yangon. For those students who are not able to be dropped off at the bus location, an ISY bus will be available to transport students and their luggage from ISY to the bus area. The ISY bus will depart at 6:45 AM from ISY, in order to make the 7:00 AM departure time. Pick up will be at the same location. On Friday, if a driver is not present at the designated pick-up time, an ISY bus will transport students to ISY for pick up.

Grade 8 Students should arrive at ISY at the regular start of the school day.

After School Urdu Language Classes at ISY

It is important that we celebrate and support the languages of all of our students. One way that ISY can do this is by supporting our community’s nationality and language groups to set up their own mother tongue language instruction classes as part of our After-School Activity (ASA) program.

We would like to promote an opportunity for children to learn Urdu after school. If you are interested in having your child(ren) learn Urdu, please fill out this short survey. This information will be shared with Ms. Munazza Ikram who is interested in starting Urdu classes in November. If you would more information about this opportunity, please contact Munazza at idmunazza@gmail.com.
