ISY Service Learning

Pop up some Service!

Friday lunchtimes are when crowds of students huddle around the popcorn machine, waiting for bags of fresh and irresistible popcorn. With every munch and crunch, delicious flavors including sweet, salt, chocolate and cheese burst into your mouth – an absolute flavor sensation! Not to mention that a donation to the Chinthe Fund is made with every pop!

Popcorn is popular with elementary and secondary students alike. Every mouthful of popcorn adds to the Chinthe Fund, making a difference for our partner organizations. Buying popcorn helps the Kalitaw school provide quality education to rural children. It also supports the Care to the Least Center, giving orphans a safe home with clothing and medical care. And let’s not forget the Yangon Animal Shelter, where your support helps provide food, vaccinations, and a cozy shelter to adorable rescue dogs. So, nothing is stopping you from grabbing a bag or joining the fun as a volunteer! Make a difference while having the best popcorn of your life!

By volunteering to sell popcorn, ISY students can learn how their time and effort can bring about positive change. The popcorn sales are an excellent opportunity for all Chinthes to enjoy snacks while learning more about service learning at ISY. A final shout-out to Coach Albert, who is there every Friday at lunchtime selling popcorn and training ISY students on how to operate the machine.
