Successful HS Chinthe Expeditions

Mike Simpson

Secondary School Principal

December 6, 2024

Our High School Chinthe Expeditions have all returned safely from Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. By all accounts, the expeditions were meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our students. Our Grade 11 and 12 also used their expeditions to complete a very important collaborative science project for their IB and ISY High Diplomas.

I am very proud of our students. The guides who worked them commented that they are the best that they have worked with – engaged, polite, and fun were some of the words used to describe them. We already know that but it makes me very proud to know that others feel the same way about our students as we do. As a faculty, we feel fortunate to work with your children and we thank you for your support.

After the break, it will be the Middle School’s chance to go to Thailand!

    Middle School Mini Holiday Olympiad

With the High School being away on Chinthe Expeditions, our Middle School students came together today for a Mini Holiday Olympiad. It was a fun way to finish the week and to spend time in our Chinthe Communities.

The students really enjoyed watching and guessing what their teachers drew in Blind Pictionary and some other fun games.

    Holiday Bazaar

It was great to see some Middle School students performing at yesterday’s Holiday Bazaar. All of our Middle School students have selected instruments to learn this year and the selection is very wide – bass guitars, flutes, clarinets, drums, trumpets, saxophones, and the list goes on! Throughout the year, all Middle School students will have the opportunity to showcase their learning and talents.

    Wear a Hat!

It is very hot and sunny now. It is important that we protect ourselves against the sun. When outside in the sun and especially during PE classes, students have been asked to wear a hat.
