Today, our Grade 6 students return from their Chinthe Expedition in Chiang Mai. This expedition is the final one for the year. It has been wonderful to once again be able to provide these experiential, cultural and service learning opportunities for our students. Thank you to our parents for their support of these experiences and to our students who made the most of them and were a pleasure to travel with. MAP Testing
Over the next two weeks, we will be MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing students in Grade 2 to 9. MAP assessments are online adaptive assessments that provide useful data in developing a fair and accurate assessment of a student’s academic achievement and growth. Students will sit MAP assessments in Math, English, and Language Usage. Students in Grade 4 to 9 will also sit a Science assessment.
To ensure a fair and accurate assessment of a student’s academic growth and achievement, teachers combine MAP assessment data with all other student data that they have collected in the classroom. This combination of data informs teacher instruction in meeting the needs of each child.

High School Counselor Newsletter: Every week, our High School counselor, Mr. A-G provides a newsletter for our High School students that includes information about university admissions.
University Admissions – Navigating Entry Requirements for Germany, Spain, and Italy
On Wednesday, February 28, at 6:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose room (MPR), our ISY High School Counselor will present on decoding the admission processes for ISY students and parents in Germany, Spain, and Italy, providing valuable insights into application requirements, visa procedures, and tips for a successful enrollment.
Important Grade 10 Parent IB Diploma Information Evening
This week, our Grade 10 students will be given important information about the ISY and IB Diploma programmes to help them select their courses for next year.
Next Thursday, March 7 at 5:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room, we ask you to join your child for an important ISY and IB Diploma Information Evening to hear from our High School Counselor, IB Diploma Coordinator, and IB Diploma teachers.
Our IB Diploma Coordinator, Mr. Lapoujade, will provide an overview of the IB Diploma Programme together with our High School Counselor, Mr. Amundson-Geisel, who will also provide some words of advice. Our IB Diploma teachers will also be available to answer any questions you may have about specific courses.

FUNDRAISING GALA
The 5th Annual ISY Fundraising Gala is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the PARKROYAL Hotel Yangon and will be in their Yadanar Ballroom starting from 6:00 pm. The theme will be The Garden of Hope. The Gala supports and links to ISY’s strategic theme of Sustainability.
