High School Athletics

Our high school junior varsity (JV) girls and boys volleyball teams competed with credit on the weekend. Our JV teams played against Yangon International School, International School Myanmar and ILBC International School.
Our girls JV team gained valuable experience and played their hearts out. Coach Just couldn’t fault their commitment on the court. They will all be better players for the experience they gained in the weekend.
The JV boys team won all their games with a clean sheet. Although some of the scores were close they didn’t lose any sets on their way to winning all their matches.
The football season will well and truly start next week. Our football teams will travel to the British School Yangon (BSY) on Tuesday for a friendly against BSY. The first game will start at BSY around 3:30 and the second game will follow that around 4:30. This will be the perfect opportunity for our football teams to put into practice what they have been working on over the last few weeks. It will also give them a chance to iron out anything that needs work on and finalize on field combinations before our Yangon Athletic Conference opener.
ISY’s first game for the YAC will be against the Yangon International School (YIS). This will be a big game against our cross town rivals, YIS! Our ISY athletes will be doing everything in their power to start the YAC football season in the best possible way.
This will be a home game, so I would like to invite all ISY football supporters to come along and support our athletes. Let’s “Fill the field” and show our support!
We also wish our girls and boys volleyball teams well on their trip to Singapore for the SEASAC tournament. You will carry the Chinthe emblem with pride.

ISY Friendship Swim Meet

On the 11th of November, ISY will host Network School in the first ISY Friendship Swim Meet. Supporters are most welcome. The meet will start at 4:00 PM and run to 7:15 PM. Please contact me if you think you would like to volunteer and help out. We need timers, marshalls and recorders. All are welcome, even non swimmer parents.
