SEASAC Cross Country Update and Results

The ISY SEASAC Cross Country team returned from the Garden International School in Kuala Lumpur yesterday after two hilly and muddy days of racing.  Individual and team relay races were run on a muddy course but the rain was helpful in that it diminished smoke from the fires that have been ravaging the area in recent weeks.

Congratulations to Orion (’23) for his 6th place finish overall in the boy’s individual race.  This was a great finish, especially considering that Orion is only a freshman!

The ISY girls finished 12th overall in the individual races on Friday, with the boys coming in an impressive 6th place considering this was their first big race of the season.  Saturday was a team relay event with our boys finishing 7th overall and our girls 9th.

Complete results from the two-day event can be found HERE.

Swimming Lessons for Youth and Adults
Coach Kyaw & Coach Win are starting a new program to teach swimming to students ages 3-5, and students ages 6-10 who are not able to swim currently. Children will be encouraged to get comfortable in the water and to eventually put their heads under water, blow bubbles, and practice kicking. The classes will take place mostly in the small pool and move into the main pool as children become more comfortable in the water.

Coaches will also offer beginner swimming lessons to students and adults ages 16 and up. If you have always wanted to learn to swim but never had the opportunity, now is your chance to learn in a safe environment with ISY’s own expert coaches.

All lessons will take place on Saturdays beginning December 7 and run through February 28. Please register HERE for swimming lessons (class sizes are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis).

Saturday Power Soccer Update

Power Soccer is considered an After School Activity, so when we have school holidays, we will not have Power Soccer.

Session 2 ASAs started last week, but Saturday November 30th we did not have Power Soccer due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
We will not have Power Soccer this Saturday, December 7th due to the Sports-A-Thon fundraiser using all of the ISY sports facilities.  Saturday, December 14th is the start of the Winter Break holiday so there will be no Power Soccer on this date either.
This means that Saturday Power Soccer will not officially begin until Saturday, January 11th.
Power Soccer will take place Mondays, December 2 & 9.

ES ASAs Cancelled Wednesday, December 11

Due to the Elementary School Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 11th, all ES after school activities, including swim team, will be cancelled.  This will enable students to go home and rest, change their clothes, and eat dinner before returning back to school for the big event.
