SEASAC Shoutout

A big shoutout to our boys and girls SEASAC volleyball and soccer teams, who traveled to Singapore and Bangkok respectively over the weekend to compete against our international rivals.

Congratulations to our boys AND girls soccer teams for finishing 3rd overall.  No one but Coach Nick Sturmey, who’s been at ISY for 18 years,  can remember when both teams finished this well in the same season.  Thanks to the daily play-by-play from parent/teacher Mark Cvengros, parents were kept in the loop and on the edge of their seats throughout the weekend.  In addition to Coach Sturmey, congrats also go out to coaches Amy Htun, Michael Ramires and Maung Maung Tin.

Mr. Sturmey giving a pep talk!

At the volleyball tournament at RIS in Bangkok, our boys finished 6th and our girls 7th after some hard fought games.  This was a competitive year in a tough Division 1 league and our athletes played up to the challenge.  Thanks to all of the parents who attended the tournaments and kept our athletes going throughout!   Thanks especially to coaches Tom Just, Lisa Johnson, Wyatt Franz and Saw Htoo.

ISY Hosts SEASAC Next

ISY will host the 2019 SEASAC Golf Tournament at the Pun Hlaing Golf Club November 20-22. Over 100 golfers from 13 teams will converge on one of the most beautiful courses in Myanmar to play for the individual and team titles.  With a school holiday on Thursday, November 21, we are hopeful many students will come out to the course to cheer on (quietly, of course, golf claps only) our CHINTHES

Yangon International Softball League Schedule

Our high school boys and girls softball teams get an early kickstart to their SEASAC season every year by competing in the Yangon International Softball League at the American Club.  Many ISY staff play in this recreational league as well.  Check out the November Schedule and come to to cheer on the Chinthes this month!
