We are delighted to announce that the ISY Family Fun Fair will be held this Saturday, the 17th of February between 4pm and 7pm. It is a special day for us to come together as a community to celebrate our unity and enjoy many fun activities. 

We warmly invite each and every one of you to join us and friends and family are welcome. Please ensure that each guest is accompanied by an ISY community member who will be responsible for them throughout the event.  The entrance fee is 10,000 Kyats per person. 

Activities at the fair include: a ferris wheel, bouncy castle, merry go round, sumo wrestling, a treasure hunt, and caricature drawings, and many other fun activities sponsored by service learning groups. We will also have a pie in the face booth, a dunk tank event, and a talent show that will start at 5:30pm. 

Coupons for the rides and activities will be available for purchase near the basketball court. Please note that coupons purchased are non-refundable. 

Food and refreshments will be available from our onsite vendors. Payment for food and refreshments must be made using cash only. No coupons will be accepted by vendors.

In alignment with our vision to promote sustainability, we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle and water coolers will be available for refills.

Chinthe Expeditions Update

Grades 6:

All is in place for our Grade 6 Chinthe Expeditions to Chiang Mai from this Sunday, February 18 to Friday, February 23.

Grade 6 parents will have received a final reminder email today from the Secondary School Office with their child’s activity itinerary and travel information. Please review this information with your child. Please remember to pack a warm jacket and pants as it gets a little cold at this time of year in Chiang Mai.

All of this year’s Chinthe Expeditions will be facilitated by the Traidhos Visiting Schools Program (VSP) in Chiang Mai. We partnered with VSP before the pandemic in providing Week Without Walls experiences for our students. We are very pleased to be working with them again.

High School Counseling Corner

High School Counselor Newsletter: Every week, our High School counselor, Mr. A-G provides a newsletter for our High School students that includes information about university admissions.

On Wednesday, February 21, at 6:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose room (MPR), our ISY High School Counselor will present on demystifying the Canadian University admission process for ISY students and families, providing a step-by-step guide to application requirements, visa procedures, and essential tips for a successful enrollment. This session is aimed at Grade 11 parents students but all parents and students are very welcome.

FUNDRAISING GALA

The 5th Annual ISY Fundraising Gala is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the PARKROYAL Hotel Yangon and will be in their Yadanar Ballroom starting from 6:00 pm. The theme will be The Garden of Hope. The Gala supports and links to ISY’s strategic theme of Sustainability.
