Tthe Secondary School Blog is now linked to the Friday Notices. This is to reduce the number of emails you receive from the school on Fridays and make sure that you have all important information in one place.
As I write this, we have students participating in their South East Asia Student Activities Conference (SEASAC) events. Our High School basketballers are in Kuala Lumpur along with a contingent of ISY Arts students. Our High School Girls Touch Rugby team are competing in Singapore. Into the Woods
Congratulations to everyone involved in our wonderful student performance of ‘Into the Woods.’ It takes a lot of effort from a lot of people to put on a show like this and we are very proud and grateful for our student performers and backstage crew and our faculty directors and those who helped backstage and with costumes and sets. A special mention must go to our maintenance and custodial staff who, when the rain came on Friday, were able to move and set up the stage in the gym within 3 hours!

Chinthe Expeditions Update
Grades 8 and 9:
All is in place for our Grade 8 and 9 Chinthe Expeditions to Chiang Mai from Sunday, February 11 to Friday, February 16.
Grade 8 and 9 parents will have received an email today from the Secondary School Office with their child’s activity itinerary and travel information. The travel information has not changed. However, the activity itinerary is now more detailed. Please review this information with your child. Please remember to pack a warm jacket and pants as it gets a little cold at this time of year in Chiang Mai.
Grade 6:
Our Grade 6 students will be in Chiang Mai from Sunday, February 18 to Friday, February 23. We have already emailed Grade 6 parents their child’s activity itinerary and travel information. This remains unchanged. We will be meeting with Grade 6 students again in the week before their expedition and will then send out an email to Grade 6 parents to confirm all arrangements.

All of this year’s Chinthe Expeditions will be facilitated by the Traidhos Visiting Schools Program (VSP) in Chiang Mai. We partnered with VSP before the pandemic in providing Week Without Walls experiences for our students. We are very pleased to be working with them again.
VSP will work with ISY teachers to create, support, and supervise rich service, cultural, and adventure experiences for our students. Please click on the following links to get a sense of the fantastic location and facilities that we have access to in partnership with VSP:
FUNDRAISING GALA
The 5th Annual ISY Fundraising Gala is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the PARKROYAL Hotel Yangon and will be in their Yadanar Ballroom starting from 6:00 pm. The theme will be The Garden of Hope. The Gala supports and links to ISY’s strategic theme of Sustainability.
