Christina Powers, Secondary School Principal

This past week our secondary students celebrated the midyear accomplishments of our service-learning groups. Their passion and dedication was evident through their achievements. Students who participated in the Wan Kang visit updated the student body on the new school. They were able to share pictures and stories that will inspire others to help make a difference.

Middle School AMIS Choir: After a two-day choir workshop our middle school students demonstrated their learning and talents with an end of the day assembly.  It was great to be able to enjoy their talents.

Virtual Learning Practice: As our aim is to ensure continuous learning opportunities for our students regardless of school access, ISY secondary school will be carrying out a virtual learning practice on Friday, 14 February.  In secondary school, we are fortunate to have google classrooms which students currently use on a daily basis. Google Classroom is a powerful tool as it allows teachers the ability to share resources, assign and collect tasks and assessments. Google classroom will continue to be our way of communicating with students on a regular basis.  Following this virtual learning experience, students will be surveyed to ensure the pace and tools utilized are successful.

Clinic in Action: Earlier this week Secondary Students met with our school nurse to discuss ways to prevent the spread of germs. The focus of the presentation was on hand washing, ways to cough and what to do if you feel ill. Students are encouraged to remain home if they are feeling unwell.

School Holiday: On Wednesday, February 12, 2020 There is no school for students as it is Union Day.
