February 18-23: Grade 6 Chinthe Expedition
February 19: Early Finish at 11:30am (Teachers Teaching Teachers – ISY will be hosting a Teachers Teaching Teachers conference comprised of teachers from several other international schools in the area.)
March 4-13: Grade 12 Mock Examinations (a schedule has been shared with Grade 12 students)

High School Counseling Corner
High School Counselor Newsletter: Every week, our High School counselor, Mr. A-G provides a newsletter for our High School students that includes information about university admissions.
On Wednesday, 14th February, at 6:00 pm in the multi-purpose room (MPR), our ISY High School Counselor will present on studying in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He will review UCAS, the application system, and explain what universities look for within the application. Applying to medical school will be touched upon. There will be an activity where we look at a student profile and explore how a student might match up with a range of universities.
Chinthe Expeditions Update
Grades 8 and 9:
All is in place for our Grade 8 and 9 Chinthe Expeditions to Chiang Mai from this Sunday, February 11 to Friday, February 16.
Grade 8 and 9 parents will have received a final reminder email yesterday from the Secondary School Office with their child’s activity itinerary and travel information. Please review this information with your child. Please remember to pack a warm jacket and pants as it gets a little cold at this time of year in Chiang Mai.
Grade 6:
Our Grade 6 students will be in Chiang Mai from Sunday, February 18 to Friday, February 23. Grade 6 parents will have received a reminder email today from the Secondary School Office with their child’s activity itinerary and travel information. Please review this information with your child.
We will be meeting with Grade 6 students again next week before their expedition and will then send out a final reminder email to Grade 6 parents next week to confirm all arrangements.

All of this year’s Chinthe Expeditions will be facilitated by the Traidhos Visiting Schools Program (VSP) in Chiang Mai. We partnered with VSP before the pandemic in providing Week Without Walls experiences for our students. We are very pleased to be working with them again.
VSP will work with ISY teachers to create, support, and supervise rich service, cultural, and adventure experiences for our students. Please click on the following links to get a sense of the fantastic location and facilities that we have access to in partnership with VSP:
FUNDRAISING GALA
The 5th Annual ISY Fundraising Gala is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the PARKROYAL Hotel Yangon and will be in their Yadanar Ballroom starting from 6:00 pm. The theme will be The Garden of Hope. The Gala supports and links to ISY’s strategic theme of Sustainability.
