A Successful Chinthe Expedition!

Mike Simpson

Secondary School Principal

January 13, 2023

Today, our Grade 10, 11, and 12 students return from a week-long Chinthe Expedition in and around Chiang Mai. Below are a selection of only some of the activities that they took part in – from whitewater rafting to pouring concrete for a local school! Look our for more photos on our ISY Facebook page.

It was a very successful week and our students did ISY proud. Importantly, our hosts were very complimentary about our students and enjoyed working with them. They said our students are motivated and keen to take part in everything. We couldn’t be prouder!

Chinthe Expeditions Update

Our Grade 7 students are the next to go on their Chinthe Expedition. Today, we met with all Grade 7 students to go over the final itinerary and organization for the trip.

Grade 7 parents, final itinerary and travel information for the Grade 7 Chinthe Expedition can be found in this week’s Friday Notices email from ISY Communications. Please review this information with your child. It includes the full travel and activities itinerary and important information about what to pack. Please remember to pack a warm jacket and pants as it gets cold at this time of year in Chiang Mai.

Next week, we will meet with our Grade 8 and 9 students and our Grade 6 students. We will provide them with their final itinerary and travel information which will then share with parents.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about your child’s Chinthe Expedition.

All of this year’s Chinthe Expeditions will be facilitated by the Traidhos Visiting Schools Program (VSP) in Chiang Mai. We partnered with VSP before the pandemic in providing Week Without Walls experiences for our students. We are very pleased to be working with them again.

VSP will work with ISY teachers to create, support, and supervise rich service, cultural, and adventure experiences for our students. Please click on the following links to get a sense of the fantastic location and facilities that we have access to in partnership with VSP:
