Report Cards & Parent Teacher Conferences

Secondary School Principal

November 4, 2022

You will have now received an email form the Secondary School Office with instructions on how to access your child’s Quarter 1 Report Card and schedule Parent Teacher Conferences.

In every school year, the end of Quarter 1 is a time for teachers and parents to connect around how we can work together to best meet the needs of students. The Quarter 1 Report provides a focus for our work together and we are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Parent Teacher Conferences.

Varity Volleyball Teams in Singapore

As I write this, our varsity volleyball teams are competing at the SEASAC tournament in Singapore. We know they will do ISY proud!

Full Moon Day of Tazaungmone

In celebration of Full Moon Day of Tazaungmone, there will be no school on Monday, November 7.

Quarter 1 Report Cards and Conferences

Quarter 1 Student Reports Cards are now accessible on Powerschool.

The report cards will be followed up with Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, November 16. There will be no classes on this day.

Instructions on how to access reports and schedule a conference have been emailed to you from the Secondary School Office. Please email secondaryoffice@isyedu.org if you did not receive the email or have any questions about the instructions.

MAP Reports Available on Powerschool

MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Student Progress Reports are available on Powerschool. MAP assessments are online adaptive assessments that provide useful data in developing a fair and accurate assessment of a student’s academic achievement and growth. To ensure a fair and accurate assessment of a student’s academic growth and achievement, teachers combine MAP assessment data with all other student data that they have collected in classes. This combination of data informs teacher instruction in meeting the needs of each child. MAP assessment data is not the basis for a student’s academic grade as reported in ISY Report Cards.

Cashless Payments

ISY has re-introduced our cashless payment system.  The system went live on Tuesday and is working well. Parents and students can add money to their account using their ID card and then simply swipe their card at the food vendors to make payments.  A brief explanation of how to top up your card can be viewed here.  Below is a practical demonstration of the system by one of our Elementary Students:

International Day Cultural Show

During International Day there will be a cultural show in the evening.  The Cultural Show is a chance to celebrate ISY’s student diversity and provide an opportunity for students to share dances, songs, or other acts connected to their culture. A form to sign up an act for the cultural show closes today (November 4) and is available here.  Each performance should be no more than three minutes in length and should ideally involve more than one student.

ISY’s Spooky Halloween

A big THANK YOU to our Parent Association and our Middle and High School Student Councils for all the work they have put into organizing tonight’s (Friday, November) Spooky Halloween.

This is an event just for our ISY community and ISY ID cards will be required to enter the campus as per normal. It will start at 5pm and please note the earlier finishing time of 7pm. See the poster below for details.
