We are very much looking forward to next week’s student production of Into the Woods. The student performers and their dedicated faculty direction and support team have been working hard for weeks and it promises to be a lively and fun performance.

This week, it is Grade 7’s turn to travel to Chiang Mai on their Chinthe Expedition. To get a sense of what they will be doing, you can visit our ISY Facebook Page to see what the Grade 10, 11, and 12 students got up to.

IB Diploma Reauthorisation Update

This week, two representatives of  the International Baccalaureate (IB) virtually visited with faculty, parents, students, and members of the Board of Trustees as a part of the reauthorization  of our IB Diploma Programme.

This visit covered all aspects of our IB Diploma Programme, with meetings focusing on the following categories: Purpose, Environment, Culture, and Learning. The purpose of the meetings was to confirm and expand upon an extensive self-study that we conducted on our IB Diploma Programme.

A school’s reauthorisation to provide the IB Diploma Programme depends upon the outcome of their self-study as confirmed by a visit every 5 years.

We expect to receive our IB reauthorisation report in a month and very much look forward to sharing the outcomes of that report with our community. The visitors identified many programme strengths in all four categories from our self-study and these were confirmed in meetings that were very positive and constructive.

Thank you to those parents and students who met with our IB visitors and participated in our self-study. We would also like to thank all of our community for supporting our IB Diploma Programme. The programme is an integral part of developing compassionate global citizens and lifelong learners who will be a force for positive change in the world.

All of this year’s Chinthe Expeditions will be facilitated by the Traidhos Visiting Schools Program (VSP) in Chiang Mai. We partnered with VSP before the pandemic in providing Week Without Walls experiences for our students. We are very pleased to be working with them again.

VSP will work with ISY teachers to create, support, and supervise rich service, cultural, and adventure experiences for our students. Please click on the following links to get a sense of the fantastic location and facilities that we have access to in partnership with VSP:
