Today marks one year since ISY has moved to a virtual platform. This is a milestone that none of us anticipated or hoped to reach. However, in spite of making it to this point the ISY community continues to hold strong and push forward.

This past week our STUCO representatives hosted a spirit week to help lift our student’s spirits. It was great to see many of our students and teachers participate.

Thank you to all the parents and students who attended the virtual Town Halls and Coffees this week. It was great to be able to reach out to our community and address your questions or concerns. As always you do not have to wait for a town hall, if you have questions do not hesitate to ask.

Happy Holidays. As we begin this holiday make sure to step away from technology and enjoy the blue skies.

Virtual learning survey, attendance information, secondary school back to school night.

This past week our STUCO representatives hosted a spirit week to help lift our student’s spirits. It was great to see many of our students and teachers participate.

Students without Borders week for students in grades 6-10 will take place February 1-5. Throughout this week students will be attending lessons from 8:30 AM-11:30 AM and have signed up to participate in optional activities in the afternoon. Students will be emailed their schedule with zoom links on Friday late afternoon.

The last five months have been an adventure, and I can not thank you enough for your support and feedback. We all look forward to returning to school in 2021.

It is great to have students on campus this week. Please make sure to make good use of our facilities by signing up.

On Thursday at 6:00 PM on December 10, 2020, the middle school team will be hosting a Middle School information session. The goal of the presentation is to increase understanding of areas of focus within our Middle School.  

We look forward to seeing you at Parent-Teacher Conferences. Parent-Teacher Conferences are an excellent opportunity to share insights and potential needs or solutions that can be used to meet your child’s needs. We encourage you to have your child participate in the conference.

Next week you may note that students are completing interdisciplinary projects as the end of Quarter 1 is Friday, October 23, 2020. Report cards will be available on Powerschool on Thursday, November 5, 2020. A reminder email with directions on how to access the reports will be sent once grades are ready to be viewed.

It is hard to believe that we have been in school for almost a full quarter. October 23rd will be the end of the first quarter and begin our fall break. Report cards will be available to parents on Power School on Nov. 6, 2020

Improvement never ends at ISY. This past week ISY has been working with an inclusion specialist to ensure our program is in line with our mission and vision. Next week we will be visiting with the WASC committee regarding accreditation.

A big thank you to the parents who attended last night’s parent social. It was great to see so many parents present. With social distancing, we need to make an ongoing effort to remain connected and last night’s event is an example of one way in which ISY is building connections.

It is never too early to learn about university options. The more you know, the more informed your decisions will be.  In order to help you prepare for life after ISY, the following resources have been organized for parents and students.

It is hard to believe that we have now completed the first quarter of the school year. Yesterday students and parents were emailed the instruction as to how to access their child’s quarter 1 reports. If you did not receive the email or need help accessing the reports, please contact secondaryoffice@isyedu.org for assistance.
