Another week of virtual learning fun and experiences is over. We love keeping the learning connections with our students. Our teachers are working very hard to ensure that your children have access to the best learning virtually that we can possibly give them.

It is Spirit Week at ISY next week so be sure to check the schedule so you know what to wear. See what’s been going on for Freedom Day. and Grade 4 getting involved in weaving.

Christmas time is here!! I’m sure you’re all very excited to be celebrating the festive season. I know you will agree that your children along with our wonderful teaching staff deserve a well-earned break – they have been superstars this year to date.

Another busy week here in the Elementary School. Busy with professional development. with Linda Henke working with our early years teachers/teaching assistants on Reggio Emilia and coming up over the next few days we have Adaptive Schools training.

This weeks news about the Literacy event, a Mangrove talk and prep for Halloween among some other great initiatives in the Elementary School.

The teachers enjoyed the Compassion Conference on Friday. They were able to learn not only new ideas but be inspired by our keynote speaker, Wilma Derksen. I hope that many of you were also able to attend Wilma’s parent talk this week.

Thank you to all those who attended the parent meeting last night hosted by Dr Hedger. There is a lot of planning going on at the moment and as mentioned later in June you will be able to view more information on what the new school year might look like.

I hope everyone received their child/ren progress reports and that you had the opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher. This was a wonderful opportunity to remain connected.

The holiday season is upon us here at ISY and next week we have many festive celebrations happening. The big event is our annual Winter Concert, we hope to see you all there. See you tomorrow at the sports-a-thon.

Dear all, Another busy week here in the Elementary School. This week Grade 5 went on a field trip, we had a Math evening for parents and PreK parents organized a celebration for the upcoming special Thidingyut Celebration.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey this week. The feedback you provide is so important to us. An email will be sent out soon that will summarize the feedback given.

Happy Thingyan break. There will be no slides posted on Friday. Slides will be posted again on the 17th of April for a start back date of the 20th of April.
