I hope you all get a chance to rest, reflect and re-energize over the Winter Break and I look forward to seeing all of you in January.

There is a lot going on next week as we come to the end of 2022. There is a Broadway Evening tonight and a holiday bazaar on Wednesday.

I hope you all had a great time at last Saturday’s International Day. It was a fantastic day for our community. Thank you again to everyone who made it possible!

International Day has always been a highlight of our ISY calendar and it is wonderful to have it back in-person and on campus this year.

It was great that so many parents were able to meet in-person with their child’s teachers today. We wish you all a relaxing holiday weekend.

Parent Teacher Conferences are opportunities for us to connect around how we can work together to best meet the needs of students.

The end of Quarter 1 is a time for teachers and parents to connect around how we can work together to best meet the needs of students.

Next week sees the return of Halloween on campus and also the return of international sporting competition.

Our counselor, Mr. A-G, was awarded the Fall 2022 GEM (Going the Extra Mile) award by the International Association for College Admission Counseling.

Another great week in secondary school with lots of fun filled afterschool activities taking place.

It is hard to believe that we are halfway through quarter 1.  With this in mind, if you have questions about your child’s progress please email your child’s teacher.  If your child’s teacher has concerns about your child’s progress, they will be reaching and emailing you directly.

Next week will be our final week of MAP testing.

The first full week of school and we are in the swing of the school year. Sports teams have begun to practice and ASA’s will start next week.

The first week of school is off to a great start. It is wonderful to have our campus filled with the laughter and sounds of students.

iMPACT 2022 continues to propel forward. Over the last few weeks, our middle school students have been working in cross-grade level teams investigating, gathering data, and taking steps to make an impact on our local community.  This is service learning in action! The projects are designed and implemented by our students.

iMPACT 2022 is off to a great start. This week our Middle School students had the opportunity to learn from guest presenters who shared their stories of passion. Each of our guests is actively making a difference in our local community. Starting with our very own School Director, who, as you all know, is off making his contribution with the Mississippi River Challenge.

It’s been another great Olympiad. With Elementary and Secondary School students working together. Olympiad is an ISY tradition that has been a part of ISY for 32 years and is often referred to as the Greatest Day of the year.

It’s been another great Olympiad. With Elementary and Secondary School students working together. Olympiad is an ISY tradition that has been a part of ISY for 32 years . It is often referred to by staff and students as the Greatest Day of the school year. Students from various grades and friendship groups work in teams performing a variety of activities that are based on teamwork and collaboration. In addition to just being a fun day, the goal behind Olympiad is to develop our ISY school community where skills and attributes are valued and respected. Having a strong school community is essential as it develops a sense of belonging, provides a way for all students to be included, and helps build and strengthen cross-grade relationships.

The end of Quarter 3 is today. Reports will be available on PowerSchool on April 1, 2022. As you review reports, please note that on April 29th, ISY will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences. If you have any questions about the Quarter 3 report, please feel free to email the teacher directly and/or attend Parent Teacher Conferences. As online conferences have been been a success, we will continue with this approach. More information about conferences will be sent after the holiday. 

Moving forward, we are also setting a goal to eliminate the hybrid /virtual program for the 2022-23 school year.  The only exception to this would be interruptions due to directives from the Myanmar authorities, or short-term COVID spikes causing class, grade level, or full school return to virtual learning for short periods.

March 4, 2022, is a school holiday.
